Vial Shields (tungsten)
Nuclear Shields designs and manufactures tungsten vial shields for use in nuclear medicine, radiopharmacy and molecular radiotherapy. Standard tungsten thickness of 4 or 6mm to provide a high level of attenuation for optimal user protection. The vial shields are fully customization with options for window, colour, inserts and caps. Nuclear Shields can also provide custom designs to meet any customer’s needs.
4mm or 6mm tungsten thickness
5 colours to choose from: red, blue, silver, gold, and green
Internal dimensions: 27 x 61mm (diameter x height)
Sliding or magnetic cap
Customization of insert to suit specific vials
Lead glass vial Shield
Tungsten vial shields with a lead glass viewing window completely covering the outside for maximum visibility. This vial shield has 4 mm tungsten shielding, with a 12.5 mm lead glass viewing window. The anodized aluminum top- and bottom covers are available in five colors (see reference image below). The cap is secured with strong magnets, which can be twisted to easily remove the cap to expose the elution hole.
Maximum visibility
Grips to easily disassemble
Inserts available upon request
Internal dimensions: 30 x 59.30mm (diameter x height)
Tungsten container
Store your radioactive sources in these tungsten containers with upto 20mm tungsten shielding. The top lid has a tapered hole to accomodate dose drawing while minimizing radiation exposure. The hole can be shielded with a tungsten plug. It is optional to receive this plug threaded. If that is not necessary, we recommend not to thread the plug to keep the hole diameter as small as possible.
Internal dimensions: 35 x 80mm (diameter x height)
Customisable shielding thickness: 6 - 20mm
Lead Vial Pig
Nuclear Shields designed this lead vial pig with 25mm lead making it suitable to safely store and transport radioactive materials. The exterior is coated with an resistant epoxy coating.

Vi-CAD Case
The Vi-Cad is a lightweight, ergonomic transporter designed for the Nuclear Medicine industry to safely carry up to eight radioactive isotopes in Raditech’s shielded containers. Suitable for all transport modes, including air travel, it combines robust construction with easy handling and a clean, practical design. Internal label pouches support two-sided labels for efficient identification and reduced handling time. Weighing only 7 kg when fully loaded, the Vi-Cad ensures convenience without compromising safety. In compliance with IRR17, it requires annual inspection and maintenance, which qualified technicians can perform either on-site or at Raditech’s facility to maintain safety and performance standards.
Type-A case (Nuclear Shields)
Type A Packaging consists of certified containers designed for the safe transport and storage of radioactive materials in compliance with international regulations, including IAEA and DOT standards. These containers ensure the secure containment of vials, syringes, or capsules during transport by road, air, sea, or rail. Available in reusable or disposable options, Type A packages typically feature absorbent foam inserts, sealed lids with gaskets, and ergonomic handles for safety and convenience. Fully compliant with UN 2915 and related standards, they provide reliable protection and regulatory assurance for the handling and transportation of radioactive materials.
